Oh, how I love a newborn session!  Baby B. was perfect little 5-day-old, and slept for me the whole time.  I met his family a few months ago for their maternity photography session, and we will be working together for the next year:)  I usually only share 5 photographs, but there was no way I could narrow this one down that much.  I love them all!

I love newborns!  Photographing three-week-old baby Will was a perfectly refreshing way to round out an otherwise stressful week:)  He just a little peanut and was super cooperative and sleepy for me.  Here is a little sneak peak of his newborn photography session.  I can't wait to see him again at 6 months!

What an honor to be asked by one of my closest friends to photograph her newborn baby!  I met Baby S. when she was about 12 hours old and we did this session a week later.  She was an excellent model and as you can tell loved her hands up by her sweet little face.

I love photographing 6 month old babies! Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD

Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD Baby Photographer

I have been slacking on my blogging.  A lot has changed at Jennifer Riley Photography.  I got an amazing new camera and picked up some new lenses too and I got an awesome Kelly Moore camera bag!  Yay!  I am taking an amazing class on lighting and have set up my studio in Cass's room (he hasn't slept there since last summer, so, basically, you snooze in mama's bed, you loose your room). Well, things are slowing down for a bit, but not for long, as I start back to grad school next week.  I am keeping busy with my newborns and "Watch Me Grow" sessions, and looking forward to warmer weather.  I miss working outside.

Well, here is Baby K.'s blog.  Six month old babies are the best age ever.  They are chubby and smiley and can sit up but can't get away!  Baby K.'s mom is amazing and bakes all of her adorable headbands and is clearly loving having a baby girl.

What a precious little Valentine!  She was the sweetest!

Baby V.'s "Watch Me Grow" Photography Session Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD

Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD Baby Photographer, Newborn Photography, "Watch Me Grow" Sessions

This family is certianly one of my favorites to photograph.  I first met Baby V. when she was just 12 days new, for her newborn photography session.  This was her three month "Watch Me Grow" session.

I am truly amazed at the calm and  quiet in a household, with 4 kids, 2 cats, a dog, birds, 2 fish and 4 hermit crabs!  I was super excited when I realized Baby V.'s three month birthday fell on Christmas Eve.  Her house is absolutely gorgeous and I was totally looking forward to seeing it decked out for Christmas!

Her older siblings all wanted to hold her and it was obvious how much they enjoy their baby sister.

It was the dreariest day, but we had so good light in her beautiful nursery.  I firmly believe that there is nothing sweeter than a baby in a basket:)

If you follow my blog you know I require a picture of mom and baby.  Dad was at the session too so I was able to capture this sweet moment.

Newborn Photography Frederick MD Middletwon MD Jennifer Riley Photography

The mama of this little cutie contacted me back in January, and was the final client to get a free newborn session.  I am continuing to offer affordable newborn photo sessions, as I gain experience in this area.

View the video of all of the images from his session!

This sweet little boy was only 5 days old at the time of the newborn session.  He is the youngest baby I have worked with, and was an excellent model.

We decided to to the shoot on location, which was great because it was easy for him to get fed and sleepy for the session.  We worked in his big sisters room, which had gorgeous natural light.

Love these black and white images of mom and dad loving their new baby:)

Newborn Photo Session Middletown MD

I know this one is a little out-dated, but I thought that I would share it anyway.  As you may know, I am just starting out with newborn photography.  I needed a little practice so I posted on Facebook that I would do the first five newborn sessions for free.  I got a pretty good response, as you can imagine, as newborn photography is generally pretty expensive.

One of the mothers-to-be that responded was Leah.  We exchanged a few emails and she realized that we are neighbors.  She is basically two houses away from me.  She was very interested in also doing a maternity photo session so we set that up.  She would be 34 weeks at the time of the shoot.  Well, Baby Emily had other plans... she decided to arrive six weeks early!  Amazingly she was six pounds and very healthy.  Her proud parents walked her down to my house when she was just ten days old. She was a very cooperative little model, and we got some great newborn pictures!
