Every time I do a maternity photo-session, I just miss being pregnant.  It is refreshing to see the excitement and beauty of this precious time in a mother's life.  I was so honored that this family drove from near Washington D.C. to Frederick for me to work with them!  What a beautiful mother, she was a pro!  Hopefully in a couple of months I will be sharing their newborn pictures:)

I met up with this lovely family in Baker Park, in Frederick, Maryland.  Of course I was super excited, because I am in love with photographing 6 month old babies. These kids were absolutely perfect models and were super cooperative.

Cass's 3rd Birthday Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown Maryland

I don't usually do personal posts but I thought I would share this amazing day with everyone.  Cass turned three yesterday and his one request was a play date with his best friend, cake and spaghetti for dinner.  It was a perfect day, complete with bike riding, worm hunting, and cupcake making!

There are so many aspects that I love about photography.  The one that is probably the least expected is building a relationship with my clients.  After the first couple of shots with this family, the son grabbed my hand as we walked.  I love working with kids, helping them warm up to the camera and eventually getting them to forget about the camera so I can capture them being themselves.  At the end of this session if felt awkward not to hug them as they left.
