I have worked with kids my whole life (I am a primary teacher for my "real" job) so I consider myself pretty skilled at getting kids attention an making them comfortable.  This family had four kids age four and under, so technically it should pose a bit of a challenge, but no, these kids ROCKED the shoot.  What a beautiful, perfectly styled, family.

Baby Violet is 1!  It is hard to believe I have been photographing Violet for a year now.  She has always been a perfect model and her talented working mama of four, always has her perfectly styled in purple.  Happy birthday baby girl!

This was such a great and versatile location and we had a successful photography session, despite a bit of a rough start... nothing a few Smarties Candies couldn't fix, though. (Yes, I always have *emergency* bribe candy in my camera bag.)  These little boys kept me on my toes, but since I have considerable experience in chasing (and photographing) wild toddler boys, they were no match for me.

I met up with this lovely family in Baker Park, in Frederick, Maryland.  Of course I was super excited, because I am in love with photographing 6 month old babies. These kids were absolutely perfect models and were super cooperative.

Baby K. is one of my "Watch Me Grow" clients, so I get to see her every 3 months.  This was our first time having an outdoor session and we were lucky enough to catch some of the beautiful cherry blossoms at Baker Park.  K. was all smiles and a super model.  Once she started crawling there was no stopping her.  She is the fastest baby I've ever met!  I can't wait to see her for her 1 year photo-session.

There is no greater compliment than having a return client.  I did an extended family photo session with this family last summer at their home in Middletown, Maryland.  Both time C. melted my heart.  He is the cutest kid and he loves to have his picture taken.  He makes suggestions for poses and is so fun to work with.

Newborn Photographer Frederick MD Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD

I have been waiting to do this photography session with Baby S. for a long time.  Her big sister is my muse, and the first child, besides my own, that I photographed when I got my new camera.  

This was the second attempt at this photography session at my home/studio in Middletown, MD  G. is pretty much my boys BFF and last time we attempted to combine a photography session and a play date and it just did not work out.  

Don't get me wrong, I am usually far more professional than this, but sometimes when you are working with friends, especially friends who live an hour away, scheduling a session gets tricky (plus sometimes us moms like to have time to hang out with the kiddos) .  

This session was done while G. and Cooper were at preschool and Even though I had Cass with me he was quite happy to help out setting up my photography equipment, entertain baby S., eat cold pizza and watch a show while I did the photo shoot.

The photograph above is Baby S. Wearing her mom's old baby dress!

It's not typical to get sleepy shots of a 2 month old baby, but Baby S. decided she was over her modeling session and it was time for a snooze in mommy's arms.

And we finish with my obligatory mommy/ baby image!  These are the shots that are nearest and dearest to my heart:)

This baby photography session was a total breeze!  Eight month old S. was born to be a model.  She started out in her gorgeous heirloom baptism gown.  

She was pulling out all of her cute baby tricks.  I think she was pretty used to getting her picture taken...
