I have known these girls and their wonderful parents for 10 years. They were at my wedding and I taught V. in 2nd grade. V. has been my "go to" girl for helping out with my boys. When looking at these pictures I just can't believe how grown up they are and how absolutely confident and beautiful they have become.

I love photographing 6 month old babies! Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD

I have been slacking on my blogging. A lot has changed at Jennifer Riley Photography. I got an amazing new camera and picked up some new lenses too and I got an awesome Kelly Moore camera bag! Yay! I am taking an amazing class on lighting and have set up my studio in Cass's room (he hasn't slept there since last summer, so, basically, you snooze in mama's bed, you loose your room). Well, things are slowing down for a bit, but not for long, as I start back to grad school next week. I am keeping busy with my newborns and "Watch Me Grow" sessions, and looking forward to warmer weather. I miss working outside.
Well, here is Baby K.'s blog. Six month old babies are the best age ever. They are chubby and smiley and can sit up but can't get away! Baby K.'s mom is amazing and bakes all of her adorable headbands and is clearly loving having a baby girl.
What a precious little Valentine! She was the sweetest!

Baby V.'s "Watch Me Grow" Photography Session Jennifer Riley Photography Middletown MD

This family is certianly one of my favorites to photograph. I first met Baby V. when she was just 12 days new, for her newborn photography session. This was her three month "Watch Me Grow" session.
I am truly amazed at the calm and quiet in a household, with 4 kids, 2 cats, a dog, birds, 2 fish and 4 hermit crabs! I was super excited when I realized Baby V.'s three month birthday fell on Christmas Eve. Her house is absolutely gorgeous and I was totally looking forward to seeing it decked out for Christmas!
Her older siblings all wanted to hold her and it was obvious how much they enjoy their baby sister.
It was the dreariest day, but we had so good light in her beautiful nursery. I firmly believe that there is nothing sweeter than a baby in a basket:)

So after about a month of indecision, I finally purchased my dream camera. I wasn't totally sure how life-changing it would be until it arrived. I waited all day for the UPS man to come and when he did I was almost having a panic attack. My heart was pounding and I was shaking as I opened the package. I was totally afraid to even try it. I think I was less freaked out, when I held my first baby for the first time.
Oh, and when it arrived my boys were in the tub. That is where they stayed as I was having my panic attack. It was the dreariest day ever, so not the greatest for trying out the new camera. I let the boys know that they could watch TV until Daddy came home, so watch they did, naked except for underwear/diaper.
I had a photography session scheduled the next day, so I had to decide if I was going to be prepared to use the new camera... I was madly reading my manual and trying to snap pictures of the boys, who only wanted to stare at the TV.

I did end up using my camera the nest day on my shoot. I can't show much because they are surprise pictures for a Christmas card. You totally couldn't go wrong with these gorgeous sisters. Despite the fact that it was windy and freezing temperatures they were amazingly photogenic.
Today we had a snow day. Basically our third one in a row. I am getting a little stir crazy, as are the boys, but what else are you gonna do but go play in the snow!

Baby V. is one of my Watch Me Grow, clients, so I will get to photograph her and every three months, until she is one! This was her first session and she was 12 days old.
I was blown away by her mothers skill as a mother of four. Her home was gorgeous, she totally missed her calling as an interior designer! Her other kids were so sweet and wanted to watch the session. It was obvious that they were quite taken by their new baby sister.
